Um. Paris in March. I’m going. True story.
My friend Suzanne and I are buzzing and humming over our upcoming trip. I’ve been once alone, and once with my sister. Sadly, her work schedule prevents her from traveling again so soon after Istanbul. Suzanne has also been to the City of Light. But we haven’t been together!
We found our lovely Marais apartment on VRBO (link listed in my sidebar). Conveniently located within walking distance of Angelina’s. Here’s what I’m saying about that: thick velvety hot chocolate served on a silver tray with a little dish of freshly whipped cream. Seriously. A cup of heaven.

We’ve secured our tickets and the apartment is booked! This time I’m bringing my BIG camera.

And my laptop. Because..um..I will be blogging from Paris! Sort of like I did from Mérida last winter. Was that really a year ago? Remember that horrible ear problem I had and how I almost couldn’t fly? Oy.

I’ll be gone for 2 whole weeks, but I’m taking you with me! Armchair travelers put on your seatbelts and go check out a Paris travel guide from the library. You’ll need it for the ride.
It’s going to be a sparkly one!
xo
Please take time to visit the RODIN Museum, you will be thrilled with the sculptures in the garden, you get up as close as your nose!
For inspiration, wools, fabrics, trims & eye-candy visit La DROGUERIE, 10-6, 9, rue Jour, #1 neighborhood. For free, go to the fancy schmancy area, and go into PRINTEMPS, take the escalator all the way to the rooftop cafe, no need to eat/or drink, just stand in awe of the cityviews, wonderful photo opportunity if it is a clear day. Tons of fabric stores in and around Basilica Sacre Coeur, most are NOT open on Sundays, the Basilica is open, of course. As for the flea markets, I decided to go south to aux Puces de la Porte de Vanves, the northern flea market, is larger & better. The southern one provided us with sensational food photos, so we were not disappointed, and of course we saved alot of euros. another great blog to visit is: parisparfait.typepad.com, she’s a professional photographer in the process of moving from Paris to Amsterdam.
Holly (I took your wonderful remains of the day journal course)
I’ll be watching your adventures in Paris in March. What fun! I’m going in May have booked the flight and the apartment in the 6th. A stop at Angelina’s is on my must do list.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking us along!!! I am SOOOOO excited about “our” upcoming adventure!! Hopefully everything will go smoothly this time and you will have no last minute scares/ear problems before departure!!
Yeah … we get to go on another venture. I’ll be following closely to get pointers on new places to visit when we go this summer. It is my very favorite place!
I must be living under a rock because I have never heard of Angelina’s. But I am here to say you MUST go to Laduree and have their hot chocolate. It is literally LIQUID CHOCOLATE. Okay, I don’t know that for sure, but that is how it looked and tasted. It comes in a silver teapot. I had it as part of their high tea at the Harrod’s Laduree (tea or liquified chocolate? Uh, CHOCOLATE!). It’s crazy expensive but worth every penny. You HAVE to try it. Drinking chocolate and macaroons? Utter bliss.
Toots Sweet Mademoiselle! I remember having hot chocolate in our Paris hotel dining room that I swear has the same ceiling as Angelina’s. Our hotel was within walking distance of the Arc de Triomphe. Got gloriously lost none-the-less and somehow ended up at the Eiffel Tower with the carousel and lovely pink-in-bloom trees leading up the promenade. Forever stamped in my memory. So happy to go back again through your eyes!
I am sooo happpppyyyyy for you! Can’t wait to see it all through your lens! 🙂
Cheeeez you really know how to hurt a person.
At least I’m mollified knowing you’ll take, like, total , fer sure, advantage of it.
As you no doubt also witnessed, the light is the most palpably beautiful l have ever experienced.
Good for you! Have the best time ever!
