I made some random mosaics from my current VJ. A different perspective than flipping through the pages. I don’t have a lot of writing on the pages. In the last couple of books I’ve unconsciously moved away from the idea of VJ as diary. Probably because I have a writing journal that I deposit most of my words into. If I didn’t have that, these pages would be full of inky words. but mostly they’re full of experiments. I keep meaning to take some of these ideas back to my wood panels, but so far I haven’t. I will though. I will
I made Visual Journal No. 11 last fall. Most of my VJ exploits can be found HERE. I’ve also installed a search feature at the bottom of this here blog. Think of it as ME only more efficient. and faster!

Loving your latest journal. I’ve gotten out of the habit of journaling this summer and I miss it. I’ve lost some of my courage to play these days it seems and am sticking to easy stuff with a lot less fulfillment. Hopefully, I can settle on the next journal and get started soon. Its like losing a limb being without one all the time. xo, debra

Thanks, MaryAnn for sharing the links to your “journal journey” … I’ll enjoy trekking through them. Love your use of color and shape. As Susie said, it makes me want to grab paints and one of my journals and play (I posted a blog entry on the m.a.n.y journals I have to play in … it’s insane.)

What stands out to me most about these pages is the vibrant colors and repetition of shapes. I like the direction your journals are going.

Your color play is truly inspiring. Everytime I look at your pages I want grab an empty canvas and paint. The colors tell a different story than your words on the page might…the images, the sweeping strokes, it’s like reading a poem without the words taking center stage…just a few morself of thought to take you back to whatever it was that moved you in that moment. The colors are vibrant voices and they make me want to listen.
