I love using photos to narrate a story. This journal feels more like a scrapbook than a visual journal. A gritty funkified scrapbook. With a heart.
I've missed it. There are about 10 pages left in this one. A nice amount to record the changes happening in my back patio.
Thanks for all the Istanbul love. I've been really enjoying your emails about what I have to look forward to on my Eurasian adventure. Once I find out which track I'll be assigned, the apartment hunt will be underway!
In a flurry of tears I finished The Elegance of the Hedgehog. Sigh. I've begun The Big Rock Candy Mountain by Wallace Stegner. He wrote it in 1943. Only 10 pages in and I'm already hooked. (both links are in my sidebar)
Books, journals, a river of coffee. Life is g o o d.

I love it. I’ve just starting gathering things/supplies to start journaling.
I was wondering if you have a particular post or list somewhere that you’d be willing to share
of supplies you really love that you buy over and over again?

A gritty funkified scrapbook. With a heart. Now that is something I could get into.

Hi Rainy,
I used some washi tape in this journal. Got it on etsy. Cant remember the store, but search washi tape. I LOVE IT!!! yes i print the pics at home on my Canon MP620 printer. I use premium quality photo paper, both matte and gloss (HP brand). This printer was not expensive and it is a real workhorse and DOES NOT guzzle ink. love it!
YOU WILL make a journal just like this someday. i have looked into the future and saw it with my own 2 eyes!

I love how you are playing with your blog banner. This one rocks. I so love seeing your journal pages. You just give each one that certain, somethin’, somethin’that gives them personality. Feelin’ the journal love. Hmmmm…I am midway through ‘hedgehog’and am absorbing the story’s ebb and flow. A good read. It is one of those books that can be read a few chapters at a time and still work on artwork and balance between everything that is going on. later gator 😉

Questions?
First what is that clear decorated tape your using?
Second Do you print your pictures at home?
Third not a question. I so dream of making a journal like this someday!

Istanbul sounds awesome! I loved those star topped light poles 🙂
Gotta get back into to my latest ROD book … it’s gotten away from me lately for some reason, but I think it’s just the place to document a little day trip to NYC last weekend…
note to self. must get pictures printed. 🙂

I’ve had such a great time reading back through your blog. It’s been like reading an autobiography of sorts. Really enjoy your ways of expression (visual and written). I’ve posted some pics of my first ROD journal on my blog. Thoroughly enjoying the process of creation.

So which character did you like better in the book? I went back and forth and felt like I had been both of the female leads at one time in my life. When I read the book last year I assigned each of the other characters to the people in my office… it made it more interesting for me. And I will be traveling vicariously with you on your next journey! Just like I have on your last trips. Like reading a travel novel by MAM….
