Rainy Saturday here in LA. The bluebird of paradise just flew by my window. Really! Bright feathers settling briefly on the porch railing. Long enough to wink at me through the window.
I'm swinging back and forth between the wood panels and splashing around in the visual journal. This one is tiny compared to my usual behemoth. A nice change. Since I've been spending time with the wood panels my usual journaling methods have been suspended. Mostly it's a place to swish around the extra paint and glue down the scraps littering my work table. Exercising the play muscle. Good times.
So good!
tara, marcie & gwen – its black gouache from a pan – the kind you mix with water like water colors!
my favorite color combinations! fabulous. Hey is that the photo of you and me on that rock that juts out into nothingness in Arkansas? the hike we took when we got lost and had to follow the power line hoping it would lead us back to civilization? the time that mom called the park service to report us missing but didn’t know where we were hiking?
LOVE love LOVE this! I am also interested in the source of the black.
Sensational!
BTW, are you missing a big order of snow? It was left here yesterday and I sure didn’t order it, so I was wondering…
Susan picked up on the same thing I did…”exercising the play muscle,” what a fabulous way to put it!
Peace & Love,

really loving the bright paint, with black drawing over it. Yes, paint or marker? do tell!
Beautiful, you definitely know how to mix things up. LOVE IT.
“Exercising the play muscle” – outstanding!!!
WOW! Love those colors and the black outlines are fabulous. Are you using black paint or a black copic marker? Beautiful!
Oh, Mary Ann, I gasped when I saw that page spread…the colors, the colors! I love seeing the transitions as you explore. Thank you for sharing with all of us!
