I think this is my last batch of travel journal pages. I'm sure I missed some. No matter, I'll be putting them all on my Flickr page. These plus whatever I missed along the way.
I completed 2 more wood panels today. I wore my foxiest set of play clothes. I got glue in my hair. I marched around the neighborhood showing my panels to anyone who would look. No one looked. It didn't dampen my enthusiasm in the least.
I'll show them to you tomorrow. Tomorrow. Day 55 of my 60 day vacation. Yep, it's almost over. It's been fun hasn't it? Like Pancho Villa in the postcard below, I will be riding again in late June.
While I was in Mérida I went to a tiny little flea market and found a vendor selling old postcards and photos. I especially love the postcards that were sent back to Mérida 50 years ago. From faraway places like Rome, Paris, Brussels, other Eurpean cities. All from the same person. Excitedly scribbling down their travel stories to their family back home. Now they live inside MY travel journal.
Today more sunbeams found there way through the windows of Moss Cottage. Making patterns of light on the walls and doors while I played with my wood panels. My yard and garden have turned into a patchwork quilt of emerald green.
As late afternoon becomes early evening I'm going to just stay tucked
inside with my glue, paper, paint, and cats. Stopping every now and
then to stare out the windows and absorb the last of the day's light.
I want to come to your neighbourhood and look at your panels…
Kx 🙂
You’re on vacation? I thought you always lived this way? Please say you blog when you are in real life? I love your posts they are like beautiful, little day dreams…
Kx
I “sew” love all of your Merida journal pages – I want to sit down and absorb each one. Wondering where you found the gridded transparency – been looking for that through local stores and haven’t seen it. I’ll check on line. Hugs.
Mary Ann, This story can’t end. Its been a lovely journey day by day waiting to turn the pages to see what is next in this sixty day tale. I so looked forward screaming at the computer to load up so I can see the next adventure. Thank-you so for taking us on this journey your writting is wonderful. I love the food and that pizza you had with the Moss sister I wished they could diliver I can hear the knock at the door right now.The pictures are the best the faded walls and those numbers .But what the best part is these memories your making for stories years to come around a camp fire and the warmth you’ll have as you turn the pages of your beautiful books.
Sad to say good bye but I truly know you will turn the corner and bring another story for us to enjoy like you are.

Love the journal pages! Funny… I took several new pieces to work today and showed everyone that would look. I have several art friends at work… they looked!
inspiration…pure inspiration.
i was going to try and take my journal with me and work on it as i experienced new places each day but, further thought that i probably won’t. rather, i will record notes and gather bits and bobs from here and there and put them into a baggie and put the book all together when i return in march.
and, i so want to take your class which i will do some time in aprilish. going to buy my first sewing machine ever…lol.
weather permitting, i fly out on monday 🙂
You seem to be a one-woman creative megaforce – bet those wood panel experiments turn into another exciting art course one day!
More fabulous pages – thanks for sharing! I love the old postcards, what a great find and cool addition to your travel journal. And if I lived in your neighborhood, I would have looked at your wood panels, and been thrilled to do so!
To our young maestro of journaling: Your journals are more captivating every day…
So gorgeous!
I do not have enough words in my vocabulary to let you know just how much I love what you do!! I am in awe – I just want to get inside your journals, they are so beautiful – thanks for sharing 🙂
So many things to see in your pages! I love the photo of the bold black numbers on the peeling-paint wall in the first one, as well as your other photos of walls and doors. I have the blogs I read on Google Reader, and whenever I see a new posting from Dispatch From LA, I swear my heart skips a bit faster ‘cuz I know it’s going to be good!
Yum! Thank you for sharing all these with us!!!
your journal looks fabulous; you are by no means playing the role of a minor character, are you? it all looks and sounds epic, definitely an explorer standing on the edge…
i hope you really enjoy your last few days off. glad to see you added ‘the elegance of the hedgehog’ to your bookshelf.

Looking at you journals makes me want to go some place and the only place I have to go is to work!
Love all your pages, especially the one with Pancho Villa!!!!!!! I have enjoyed very very much this class and can’t stop gathering papers for my next “few” journals. Enjoy the few days left of vacation, June will be here very soon.
