My other sister sent this photo on the right from Kansas City today. Mine is on the left.
If I didn't have to work tomorrow I would get in my car right now and drive all night and all day and all the next night to get to the bakery selling that pumpkin bread pudding. And then I would eat not one, not two. Oh no, I would eat 3 with 3 steaming cups of joe and perhaps a frothy glass of cold milk on the side. And then I would get back in the car and drive across the continental divide and all the way back home. Except I might need to stop for a short powernap. Or two.
Me + me in all the rest of the diptychs.
Diptych Schmiptych. Sounds too much like dipstick. I'm just going to say "pairs."
Scenes from a weekend. Some work better than others.
This morning I went on a one-woman field trip to Descanso Gardens which lies nestled in the nearby foothills. Hundreds of blooming perennials and roses all resting under a cloak of grey. Nice.

This morning I printed out a recipe for pumpkin bread pudding, and I’m amazed to see it pictured here! woot!
Ha Ha…I accidentally double-clicked on the pumpkin bread pudding and my computer suddenly popped a HUGE picture of it on my screen! Larger than life!! Yummy…..!!
I’ve been gone two days and it seems like months. You have been very busy planning, dreaming, scheming. Yes, having two days off is wonderful, but having more days off would be the most wonderfulest of all! Then you could actually do and read everything.
Ooh…which KC bakery are those from? I’d be more than happy to go taste one on your behalf, Mary Ann!
It is always such an inspiration to check your blog and see what fun, creative things you are up to. I love the “dipstick” idea. I’m writing to my sister right now–her photos, my drawings……love it!
This is such a fabulous idea.
Two friends one in Portland, Oregon and the other in Portland, Maine did the photos for a year and they were so lovely.
By pairing things one gets added resonences (spelling!)
Your close up pictures are so very yummy.
I’m from L.A., Mary Ann, and am embarrassed to say that I never once was at Descanso Gardens! Isn’t it in Echo Park or Silverlake?
What is that frost colored succulent?! Like Martian landscape gardening…
Delightful pairs of squares!
