You already know of my ongoing love affair with tropical hibiscus. Several years ago I drove south of LOS ANGELES about an hour, down a windy rural road, through a wooded area, until finally I landed HERE. It was a lovely day. Clouds frolicked in the sky. The sun shone on my hands on the steering wheel. I selected my little seedlings from a porch filled to the brim with hibiscus color varieties you can’t begin to imagine. I’m still happy with my selections.
In other non-hibiscus related news, summer vacation is warm and delicious. After lolling about in the sunshine, taking daily naps on the chaise lounge out back, staring out the living room window, and watching back to back episodes of So You Think You Can Dance I am at long last ready to roll out Stencilry 2 in the form of STITCHED & STENCILED. And I decided to have it be a la carte. An easy summertime committment.
It’s all I’ve been thinking about and working on for the last few days. I’m not just a little bit excited. I’m a-lot-a-bit excited! Pre-registration begins NOW. Class starts August 10th. I know I’m limiting myself with this class by having a sewing machine be a requirement, and by only opening this up to my estudiantes brilliantes from the previous two Stencilry courses, but I have to go in the direction that thrills and delights me even if that means only a few of you will be along for the ride.
Next up: Mary Ann makes a martini then starts working on her sister’s travel journal.

That first hibiscus is so gorgeous and so evocative, I’m tempted to find it and take it! But… would it bloom for me? Oh, I think NOT! You are the hibiscus whisperer.
I hear something… is it the rhythmic, soothing sound of my mother’s Singer…?
Leau says
Oh yeah baby, I’m in but currently computerless and sewing machineless but have great faith that by the time this starts, I’ll have both again! The library computer really pops those amazing hibiscus pictures! smooches

Oh brother, I’m going to have to get out the hated sewing machine.
I hope you realize that I’d only do this for you!
So where do we pre-register? I’ve tried clicking on everything, but nothing is clickable. Maybe It’s the universe trying to save me from my own masochism.
Nancy Spiegel says
Yes, I would like to preregister also. Will there be a link?

The photos are GORGEOUS!!! Are you self taught with a camera?? I need to find an online class for photography to improve the quality of my photographs.

Oye count me in! Now I have to learn how to sew AND beg my partner to use his sewing machine! Oh why do I foresee a trip to the hospital in my future Mary Ann… you better include a disclamer for injuries…
Stephen du Toit says
Count me in for Class #2 – as long as I can start it a bit late, as I’ll be away on holiday on August 10th.

Yippy I have a sewing machine. I hope straight lines are not a requirement…lol. Well actually I haven’t used the machine in 30 years and then it was only at the instance of mother that I must learn some womanly skills…lol.
Love hibiscus and absolutely love martinis!

HOLY COW, I’m going to have to find a good-cheap-used sewing machine!
