A new writing journal has come to live at my house. When I'm recording my big & small thoughts it's important to have a book that makes me feel terribly brave and fierce. And while I'm paddling my longship across the chilly North Sea each night I will need a sturdy book to record my exploits.
A Viking book seemed the natural choice. I can't wait to glide my inky pen across these pages!
I'm still thinking about what kind of travel journal to build for Lisbon. So far a BIG idea hasn't presented itself. But one is coming. I can feel it.
We settled on an apartment. This one is in an old 19th century building in the Chiado quarter. 5th floor WITH an elevator. Not an easy find in Lisbon. Now we just have to flip a coin to see who gets the twin bed.

Ok THAT’S IT! I’m coming to Lisbon with you! I’ll sleep in the chair in the living room. OMG! It’s fantastic!!! all that beautiful white space, the big windows, the kitchen table (I can already see it covered in art supplies!) – it just all looks so glorious! Can’t wait to hear about your adventures…big and small. And that journal is a GREAT find! xo frannie

What a journal! What an apartment! How long are you staying in Lisbon?
We used Rick Steves for our trip to Italy in 07 and all accommodations turned out great.

If I had a sister and a ticket I’d be in Lisbon too.
In a walk-up with an elevator.
I’d cheerfully take the single bed.
I see a washer.
A big table to invite new friends for a big Lisbon dinner.
I’ll just pop back to my desk here in Colorado (ZZZzzzzzz) and start a travel list.
Can’t wait to see what you decide upon for your Lisbon travel journal.

Don’t kid yourself. I KNOW you’d rather go to math training for a whole week like me. WITH LUNCH mind you. Lisbon can’t hold a candle to the County Schools of Education Office and their plastic chairs. Oh no. I will be expanding my mental horizons. Or will I BE mental after doing that for a whole week DURING SUMMER.
