A warm autumn day in California. We left LA behind and drove an hour east. Winding our way up to Oak Glen's many apple orchards, farms, and cider mills. A lovely day. Good company and plenty of apple flavors. We tried them all.
Then back to Paul's house to rest and admire our loot. Remember this place?
I'll show you more tomorrow. Someone's entire cat posse are lined up for massages!
Bought a great book on the history of Oak Glen on our last trip. Talk about memories!

oh i am so jealous! i’ve always wanted to go to that apple festival in julian. and my husband demures and slightly rolls his eyes. so i have yet to go. but i met two sisters just a few weeks ago who were talking about apple picking. i asked them if they went to julian and they said they’d been going to oak glen since they were little bitty girls. by the time i got home the name of the town had flown from my mind. and look at you! you’ve been there and come back with such pretty drool worthy pictures. i’m off to plan my apple trip!
Love Oak Glen. I can almost smell those apples! Thanks for the heads up on some great music.
Wow those are wonderful photos. I’d love to join you…..one can dream can’t they? LOL
schmassages, schmassages, schmassages!!

WELL?!? Waiting… Waiting… It’s 11:30…
No wonder you didn’t invite me. Paul would never have me over, knowing what he knows.
This is such an exciting-looking trip! I want to be just like you!
Thee you go again, reminding me of my childhood. We used to go apple picking at Oak Glen when I was a little girl. We always picked more than we could use in a reasonable time. I am reminded of the apple catchers on the long poles to get the best apples, cuz the best were always up high. Once home, mom made apple cake, apple cookies, applesauce and apple pie. Thanks for more memories. Yes, thanks.
I covet that screened porch. Am looking forward to seeing the little spaces in Paul’s place. There are a wealth of specials to be found there. Autumn just makes one want to squeal with the ‘unbearable beauty’ of it.
Wow, those apples look delicious! What a fun day you had!
