Someday I'll go back to the visual journal, but not today. Today I've got a ticket on the Postcard Express and I'm riding till the end of the line!
This week an embarrassment of riches (thanks Gwen I love that line) came to me in the form of gifts from generous and kind people I've never met. First, my very own dvd of Nevada Smith starring a young Steve McQueen, which was filmed in Owens Valley. Next came 2, full cd ITunes downloads of Horatio's Drive audiobook and music cd for my upcoming roadtrip to Mendocino. Out.Of.The.Blue. Thank you S. & S.
Go make this supper tart NOW. Here's the recipe.
FOR THE TRAVELER by John O'Donohue
{part 2}
A journey can become a sacred thing:
Make sure, before you go,
To take the time
To bless your going forth,
To free your heart of ballast
So that the compass of your soul
Might direct you toward
The territories of spirit
Where you will discover
More of your hidden life,
And the urgencies
That deserve to claim you.
Make you travel in an awakened way,
Gathered wisely into your inner ground;
That you may not waste the invitations
Which wait along the way to transform you.
May you travel safely, arrive refreshed,
And live your time away to its fullest;
Return home more enriched, and free
To balance the gift of days which call you.

Can I just say that visiting your blog is like taking a vacation??!!!??? Such a treat it is to see the sights you capture so beautifully! I’m in love with the fence picture and a tart is on the menu for tonight’s supper. Heaven! How I would love to be a fly on the wall in your space….or better yet, on the fuzzy dice hanging from your rear view mirror…to be able to journey with you would be a pleasure, to be sure! 🙂

I love the fence pic.
The tart is inspiring variations on what I have – frozen pie crust dough, a plethora of greens (beet, radish, bok choy, spinach) from this week’s CSA box. Hmm, what can I do and will it be good for lunch tomorrow also?
Where/how did you acquire some of those vintage wallpapers? Were they part of the big score you made a coupla years back?
What’s your estimate on the number of times you pulled off the road to take photos?
How you refresh us all.
