I so enjoy your photos of downtown LA and Highland Park (as well as your art of course), it reminds me of my days at Otis in the 80’s. Not much has changed in some of those areas over the years. I love old signage too, there are some great examples in LA. Now I live in Chicago and am amazed by the architectural details on the buildings here.
I love it! I don’t think we have that much “type” in my city. Or shall I say that much interesting type in my city. LOL It’s just so small. I want to live someplace big….I think.

Hey, I know those signs 🙂 Come on down the road a bit and take a pic of Chuy’s Carborator sign…it’s a good one..and don’t forget Footsies…
Love all the type!! I am taking my camera out to do a similar search today, all of the signs I pass everyday and don’t bother to really look at. We are not as glamorous as LA, but everywhere has cool type.
i am so digging on all this type. ooooh, the photo of the this american life dude is next to me as i type this. i have a secret crush on him. i think it is the glasses and his keen wit. i miss living in los angeles. well, i miss some things about living in los angeles. i always feel a hunger to drive up there when you are posting the downtown pictures. i lived in hollywood for a long time. i miss the freaks. orange county is so…orange county. ’nuff said.
When I grow up I want to be like Mary Ann – you actually do the things that I think. ActionWoman! yes!!
p.s. the catsuit image popped into my head again…
