Today is the 60th day of my 60-day vacation. On this, the last day of high-jinx and tomfoolery for another 5 months, I present to you chickens. I highjacked these little fellows to serve the higher purposes of MAILART a couple of months ago. My 2nd graders drew and colored them and I think they are v. delightful. If you’re feeling blue I recommend Chicken Therapy. Find a kid, any kid will do under the age of 9. Ask them to draw you a chicken. Or two. When they are done take the chickens. The kid won’t care I promise. In fact they will WANT you to take them. They will hand them to you with wide toothless grins. Put them on your bulletin board or lean them up against a window. Soon you will see personalities emerge from the drawings. Label them accordingly. Mail them or put them under people’s windshield wipers. That’s what Robin & Vinnie would do. And that’s called Chicken Therapy. It works.
I found a new blog today with a whole mess of journal pages. You too can marvel and exclaim at the wonder that is Miss Rambling Rose’s art journal by going for a visit.
TJ’s chicken pot pie is baking and I’m getting ready to watch Mr. Monk and the Employee of the Month. Then I am going to finish my book. Then I am going to clean the paint off my fingernails. Then I am going to make my lunch to take to school tomorrow. Then I am going to put my past tense Spanish verb conjugations in my purse so I can practice with all of my Spanish speaking colleagues tomorrow. Then I am going to set the alarm for 5:30. Then I am going to sleep to dream of sassy, unflappable, trouble-making chickens.

These chickens are just the best! I think I will have my younguns draw chickens while we are taking our mini camping trip. I know they will be willing to part with their masterpieces…I should know I have a stack full of their little creations. 😉 Rambling Rose..Rawks!

I love your blog, and these chickens. I also like the discussion of what is in your trunk and randi’s. I have a body pillow and a half empty can of pale lavendar paint, and several bags of old neckties, sorted by color….
I think that I will have to take a photo of that tomorrow…

Chicken therapy – why didn’t I think of that? Too late now. I’m impressed by LA’s 2nd graders drawing & coloring skills – lots better than the Chicago 2nd graders I used to have. And its SO true – they WANT you to have their chicken creations! Just sorry chicken therapy has to start at 5:30 am. Buon lavorro!
