And here it is! I can’t think of a better end to a day than coming home to a package with a felt plush toy for grownups and a mini-journal to toss in my purse next time I hit the road. My new mailart friend, Robin sent me this cool package. Here’s the back of the doll. I love the look of all the embroidery thread stitches covering the surface. My cat posse were all lounging around when I opened the package and as soon as they saw the kitty on the back they snapped to attention.
I’m going to be posting a mailart album in the next few days with lots of mailart I’ve made in the last year or so. I also want to get a visual journal album up with some journal pages, but in the meantime…here are a few recent pages. I went to the Pasadena City College flea market in January and bought an old crumbling photo album and a couple of lots of vintage photos. It’s great fun to take a pile to bed with my magnifying glass and make up stories about all the great characters I’m meeting just before I drop off to sleep.
The great thing about having piles of photos is they don’t have to be precious. I have so many of them that I don’t feel any need to make color copies. Mostly I just staple or tape them down.
