Just a little note to say a mighty thank you. We received the love you sent. I’ve taken my handy dim sum cart twice to the office to collect the packages. What fun I’ve had opening everything, sorting it into bags and bins and on desktops. Getting ready for my brand new students who arrive on Monday.
If a gift receipt with a QR code was enclosed, which identified the sender, I sent you a thank-you note via Amazon. To every single last one of you who sent either donations via my Amazon wishlist or good thoughts please know just how much they mean. By the way, the sender isn’t identified if “gift” isn’t checked so I have no way to say thanks. Except I do. Right here. And boy, do I mean it!
I am honored by your generosity, your wanting to help. Makes my heart feel spacious.
I’ve been in my room daily working long hours to launch this big ship of a class next week. I enjoy puttering around all day. Taking my time. Watching the light change. Listening to music. Getting things organized.
Sending bear hugs and air kisses.

I thought I registered for your Sketchbookery class, using PayPal, but my email isn’t recognized. I’m afraid of signing up again and paying twice. Can you help? Sorry to write this here but I don’t see a contact email. Thanks!

You’re most welcome, and thank you for the opportunity. Given how often I feel completely helpless these days, I’m inordinately pleased to be able to help out, even in such a small way.

As a retired teacher I so enjoyed this post. It was fun each year to putter around, arranging everything just so, and getting the big, clean, gloriously silent classroom ready in those few days before school began. The anticipation of the new group of little people who were heading into my life was pleasant. I taught at an old school and your classroom with its big windows and light looks inviting and reminds me of those happy days. I wish you well as you begin this new school year!

I do enjoy the puttering around with the trees just outside and the good citizens of Chinatown walking by my windows. Enjoyed your message so much. Always love hearing from teachers, current and former. Thanks, Fran.

My mom was asked to give .50 for a box of Kleenex from my kindergarten teacher and broke down in tears because she didn’t have it. She was divorced with two kids in the early 60’s. I can’t believe schools don’t provide what is necessary. Not all parents have the money.I wish I could’ve spent more. I just wanted to say “I care” because I do.

Oh Jan. About your mom…what a tender story that one is. I never ask my parents for ANYTHING. Supplies are greatly limited. You can get by with them, but every teacher I know finds better things for their students and pays for them with their own money.
Thanks for your kind donations. It really is the thought that counts.

Oops, didn’t know about checking the gift box. Stickers on their way to you for delivery tomorrow and Monday are from me. Enjoy!! 🙂

Big thanks, Cynthia. I wish Amazon had a better system for notifying wish list recipients about who sent things, but they don’t. One just receives a package with items inside but NO paperwork or receipts w/ QR codes.

Soooo Very Happy to do it! Loved seeing the stacks of goodies – wish we could all be there with you to laugh and arrange and stack, bag, support, and imagine all the fun those amazingly lucky students are going to have with you. We’ll be with you all the way.
Big Kitty Hugs and Courage, Mon Ami!

Awesome to be of help to the emerging artists in your classroom. New school supplies are always so fun. Have the most wonderful school year!
Mary Ann Moss says
Thank you, Esther! Refresh my memory. Are you from Italy? I can’t keep people straight but your name is so familiar. Were you in the Zoom?

Wow. This is an amazing giant gift and a wonderful one for all the students and for the teacher as well. Look at those fantastic supplies all of which will make it so much easier to teach! It makes me happy just to see the piles of opened materials and the cart of boxes.
How do you organize this? Is there a wish list posted at Amazon or do good folks just send whatever they think you might need?
Thank you for showing us the bounty sent your way for this new teaching year. It dies a heart good.
Mary Ann Moss says
Yes, Nancy Jane, it’s a classroom wishlist so everything is from items I specifically selected. I mentioned it and included a link in my last post.
