oh it was a glorious week by the water! one of the very best in fact. the stormy weather orchestrated and arranged the cloud piles into one splendid tableau after another.
the tides raced in and out on schedule, uncovering then hiding wide swaths of velvety sand.
the entire scene aglow with copper, silver, then pastel light.
i slept in my own bed last night which was good.
alas, i could not race outside at dawn to see what the sky and water were doing, but i could and did imagine it in my mind. the glossy sand, churning waves, pastel blue clouds scuttling along low on the horizon.
today larry reported for painting duty at 10 a.m. and stayed all day working away at the trim. he’ll be back next sunday.
i colored in the fruit i drew while on the coast.
a few other oils on paper from my week by the sea.
on my last day in carpinteria, sharron and joyce came over for a day of arty play and conversation. i find their company deeply nourishing.
i’ve already booked the same cottage again in the spring for a week.
in unrelated news, i’ve lowered prices for a SALE on 3 of my online classes, which i haven’t done in a long time. these classes are on sale: SKETCHBOOKERY($52-$62), OH MY GOUACHE! ($52-$62), STITCHBOOKERY ($42-$52)

Beautiful cloud photos and reflection of light. The painting journal pages are lovely. I do like the black paper you are using, makes warm colours so vibrant!

Wow, that is so Carp. I can smell the sea and feel that squishy sand under my feet. Sometimes I forget to photograph. Just stand there in awe.
