last winter i spent 2 glorious weeks in nicaragua. i blogged about it RIGHT HERE.
the other day i received a sweet email from ashley the owner of the airbnb i rented in granada. she told me that she and her charming house were being featured on international house hunters. that episode will air tomorrow january 5th should you be interested in catching it. i can’t wait!
i loved my time in nicaragua so much, especially my conversations and long drives with dear julio as he showed me the countryside around granada. he was a memorable person. so much so that i devoted an entire post to him.
i’m eager to do more traveling in central and south america. columbia & ecuador are high on my list. but then, any place i’ve never visited beckons me. i am certain i will return to nicaragua one day and when i do i know right where i’ll stay.
those of you living in the east and getting pummeled by the icy blizzard weather bombs, i’m thinking of you and hoping you’re dry and warm. stay safe on those icy roads. in fact maybe don’t even get on the roads unless you have a mama moss in your life who has personally blessed the tires of your automobile. build a fire, get a stack of books, and a couple of cats, make a pot of stew, and hunker down. the world will be right where you left it when the snow stops falling and the winds stop howling. and i’ll just be here. savoring these last few days of winter vacay. xo

Yes, life on the east coast isn’t the greatest right now but remembering your trip and Julio warmed me up here at work. Its so cold here today (wind chill is what is brutal – it makes it feel like 1 degree!) that i must go back during the rest of my lunch and read about that trip.

Lovely! I could go for that drink right about now.
No snow in my area, but really cold temps. I think today’s high is going to be 10F. Ugh. I don’t know how the blizzards missed us in northeastern Pa. We usually get hit with everything that pummels the Eastern seaboard.

Mary Ann, we are going to Guatemala next month, to the volcanic Lake Attitlan. Also hoping to get to Nicaragua based on your recommendation.

Very cool Mary Ann! I will watch it as I record every episode. Ditto to your words of wisdom to those on the east coast and the rest of the frozen country. Spring will be extra sweet this year.
