hey you crazy kids! how are you?
i’m ready to float out my window, sail up through the trees, and glide west on a blue sky. i finished the promo video. website is ready to roll. registration is set to begin in the morning. or maybe around midnight. depends on my sangria intake. i will post again with a class blog link the second it begins.
pam is coming up next week so i can film her for one of the STITCH*BOOKERY videos. she has graciously consented to appear in 1 of the videos. doing something unfathomably inspiring.
meanwhile mary & syd & penny & gang have been roaming the english countryside having tea & crumpets & taking workshops with renowned textile women of the uk. and making me dreadfully jealous. no matter. my jealous pangs only serve to bolster my travel dreams!
ingrid posted this to her IG and it made me have a physical pain in my heart seeing her studio all lit up like this. i bet one of her menfolk took this picture from the boat. oh sweden i am longing for you! 2 summers in a row i went and had a glorious time.
this summer i am going again to an island, but this one in our pacific northwest. i already know i will fall in love. already can feel myself there. the cool damp air of the puget sound, the tall trees, moonlight or starlight falling in a spotlight around our little place by the water. i imagine walking down to the water at midnight and communing with orcas who might be out there! somewhere! i do hope they’ll send me a telegram with a secret message. i will be very receptive to such things.
okay well there i went. getting carried away again. random blatherings from moss cottage where i am exceedingly happy to be alive. happy to be on the cusp of STITCH*BOOKERY release. thrilled to be blogging. and sewing all manner of doo dads. smiling at all of you out there in the wide world. hello hello hello.

I’ve been spending a couple of months a year on an island in the Puget Sound for the last three years – keep us posted! In the meantime, I’m getting ducks in a row to figure out how to do Stitch-Bookery! What is the live schedule – in your mind at least…

The books look like a lot of fun and I look forward to playing along. One of my favorite vacation spots is Orcas Island. We rented a cabin on the water and enjoyed watching deer from the window in the early morning. It is a beautiful area!

Oh I am excited and inspired by this video! The shot of ingrid’s studio is swoon worthy. And I am delighted you are visiting the Pacific Northwest. I love exploring this region and I cannot wait to see where you settled on going. The weather has been gorgeous but even when it’s grey and wet it’s beautiful.

Ditto ditto what Diane says: though we are just across the Line, we share the same summer weather and sunsets! Here on our Island we carefully instruct our guests in the 3fold mantra in case they are asked by nosey parkers ‘if they had a good time?’.
1. It RAINS all the time!
2 The people are miserable and unfriendly.
3..Its bleeding expensive!
It’s surprising how this has kept down the number of visitors lol.. mind you i suppose the 2 hour ferry ride does the same thing.. chortle.
Psst ms Mam no worries.. you and your sister and compadres are ALWAYS welcome!

Oh, I will love reading your posts from Puget Sound where we enjoy the most magnificent summers in the world. I should not boast of this lest everyone wants to join us here. (Ha! If they have a trunkful of doneros, that is, to afford anything that comes with a roof.) While we endure cracks and jokes all winter about the rain and gloom (although it rarely gets below freezing), we smugly enjoy the warm (not hot), blue (not grey), comfortable (not humid), green (think leafy), long (sunset around 10 pm) days with few bugs to ruin our outdoor evenings. They don’t pay me to say that either. I’ve spent 1/3 of my life in the midwest, another 1/3 in southern California, and the rest up here, and they all have their wonders, but I think you will love the beauty of the great Pacific NW!
