Thank you for the video Mary Ann, I’ve reposted this into my journal group. I find it so relaxing, almost mesmerising, watching other people make their journals. I used to have your videos on in the background when I still had access to them. I find the voices, the noise of creating and often in your videos the birds, so calming. Maybe it reminds me of childhood when we were playing with the noises of adults talking, mum sewing, gardening being done, in the background. It made us children feel safe and like all is well and we can just play. I like those two chaps, and I love their journals, so juicy and chunky and artsy. I may order their book, it has great reviews on amazon uk. Apparently the artwork is stunning. I may just need it to look at and drool over.

Arne and Carlos are utterly charming.

I just found a book they wrote about their art journals and how to make them recently. Very cute, I don’t remember the title. I liked the videos, I love their garden and would love to see the inside of their house.

These are so wonderful. I’ve already reposted links and videos to my two knitting groups. I think my favorite comment was in the Art Journal when Arne (I think), wearing that wonderful straw hat and beautifully patterned sweater over the blue tee shirt, calmly mentions that he attended fashion school.

You’re welcome, Mary Ann. Those guys are so charming. I bought their book on Amazon, “Make Your Own
Ideabook” about art journals, which is nicely done. That same issue of Flow Magazine has an interview/article on Maira Kalman, too. Perfect!

I read about Arne and Carlos in Flow magazine a while ago, and wasn’t really interested to visit their website because I too don’t knit. Then just a couple of weeks ago I found their video about art journals, and then the garden video, and then looked at lots of other videos on their youtube channel, but these are my favourites so far!
Mary Ann Moss says
you’re so close you can just pop over to their place for a visit! i’m jealous 🙂
Sabrina says
Haha, you’re probably faster taking the plane Form LA to Oslo than me driving up with the car. I am closer, but I guess there are still 1000 km between me and them… Ingrid is the one who is really close!
