hi!
it's that time of year. the epiphyllums (also called epi-cactus or cactus orchids) are beginning to bloom and lordy, are they ever showy!
my rods and cones are receiving massive doses of stimuli.
a fact:
the white epis I have are all night-bloomers, and the peach, pink, and fushia are day-bloomers.
store that information somewhere. it might come in handy. for example if you visit me and feel compelled to bring a gift, you might want to know which colors of epis i already own. whaaat?! it's only a suggestion!
of course first you'd have to find one to buy or steal. that's not easy. but you're clever and resourceful so i'm just providing the facts.
you can read everything you ever wanted to know about them right HERE.
34 days, 21 hours, 20 minutes and 30 seconds = amount of time remaining in the school year.
10 minutes, 3 seconds = amount of time until my next nap. zzzzzz

Mary Ann, did you ever think of doing standup comedy? Guess you get to do some of that with your readers (sitdown comedy) and your school children (a little of both).
Love your plants and flowers … and your deep, emotional comments about them.
I just got my first Copic markers. I love the way they flow, but I don’t like how they bleed through the paper, similar to the original Sharpies. Then I have to paint the page on the other side in my art journal. Oh well, you can’t have everything.

Once again, you bring a huge smile to my face. And you better stop being such a tease…one day I’ll roll up to Moss Cottage, a huge epiphyllum in hand, and expect a welcome. LOL
Peace & Love,
Barb

One of my epis is just on the cusp of blooming. I’ll send you a photo when they’re both in bloom. I’m totally stoked that both of them have put on skads of new pads/stalks this year! Have a great weekend! xo

Someday I will have a blog and I will share all my most profound thoughts on everything and anything. I love gardening. Indoor and outdoors. I never get attached to any of my plants yet I am always amazed at the ones that come back to life each year. Four seasons. It is tough to consider living any other way. I would to see California, though. I visited the Denver Botanic Garden. It is interesting to see plants that don’t grow where I live. I love flowers. I love roots more.
