in between reading, laundry, and dishwashing i found time to surrender to the call of the gouache. and the bouquet of freesia filling my kitchen with perfume.
also i drew the bold black lines over my tomato from last week with sumi ink.
and as usual i wrote something profound beneath the picture. i'm a master of restating the obvious.
if you're doing something interesting (if only to yourself) i'd appreciate being informed.

the interesting thing I am doing is writing a book. it’s interesting because I haven’t read one in months.

Sketching at Browns Feed and Seed in Evans Ga. Looking for their gator!!! Chased and drew a few chickens, a sweet one eyed dog, but the building was too fascinating. http://margaretmccarthyhunt.com/2015/02/12/day-221-a-few-chickens/

For one who paints very frequently…it shows. AND HOW!!!!
To one (such as moi), it also shows….but not well at all. I really must schedule creative time in order to improve.
Love, love, love your graphic tomato.
And your sense of humor is heart warming. Thank you for the giggle.

Yikes! I love that tomato. Like what the black lines do to it. That creates a look of illustration.
And thanks for the chuckles , way over here in

Glorious colours, just what we need to shield our eyes from all this snow in Lancashire UK.
I’m hoping to post something from my workdesk tomorrow. Pop by if you’ve time 🙂

Hi Mary Ann, love your post, as always. Thought about you as discovered a new (to me) wonderful gouachist : she paints amaizing whales and other animals, for instance in her children s ABC. http://www.fayebradleyillustration.co.uk. Hugs from snowy Munich, Inga

Ugh! You’re = your of course.

I’m very much in love with your tomato. I’m also very much into gouache right now and learning to really play with it. It’s fun.
You’re naming of your paintings reminds me of how I name my sketchbooks and journals. Is there a picture of the moon on the cover? Well of course it’s the Moon Journal. Do I intend to fill the book with collages? Well of course it’s the Collage Book. I just finished my current journal and am moving to a Canson sketchbook for my next one and I think…I think I will name it the Canson Journal! 😉

Watching the Superbowl online, something I very rarely do…except I’d love to see the Patriots win…except I think they’ll end up losing. Oh well.

Lovin all of your sharing and glimpses into your colorful world as always, as for anything interesting in my little corner of the globe I have been pushing bins around, rearranging and organizing stuff, throwing away clutter and taking great pleasure and satisfaction in a good and thorough cleaning of my creative stash. It is make me deliriously happy. 😉

I love that tomato. Fabulous linework.

Yes, that is profound. 🙂
What I did a few minutes ago (after reading your other post about being in your pj’s most of the day, something I have also been known to do) was to watch some of your Venice videos. It is a rainy gray day at my house, and I just felt like a repeat visit to Venice. I didn’t watch any instructional videos, just a couple of locale videos. It hit the spot! One of my goals for this year is to finish my Venice book (yes, after 2 years, it’s not finished, but it’s still one of my favorite classes because your idea for Ticket to Venice was such a unique take on an online class.)
Carry on…
