our recent downpours have added a crispness to the air. as much as i fantasize about non-stop rain for a month, i am aware that like most angelenos, i am a storm baby. no,i didn’t crawl into the closet when the battering rain, winds, and hail bore down on moss cottage in the middle of the night. i almost did. but then i didn’t.
let’s discuss birds. red birds, blue birds. birds with pointy crests. ceramic birds. book birds.
they’re fun to draw & paint.
if you’ve got a hankering to draw & paint you can totally do that. this winter in SKETCHBOOKERY. registration open till december 31.

Rain, rain, thunder, hail….no match against the residents of Moss Cottage. As long as you’re still painting and sketchin’ I know all is well, storm or no storm. Your birdies are uber adorable. Love em all!!!! xoxox

Those ceramic birds! ~ I had a 4th grade teacher at Canfield Avenue School in L.A. (now Canfield Elementary), who was big into art. We made ceramic birds on logs, learned to paint poinsettias (for which I thought she meant Point Setters, dogs, until we actually started to paint), and other projects. I think she was my fave grammar school teacher ~ Miss Howells. I always remember the best parts of growing up in L.A., via you and your posts. Thank you, my dear! xo

Oh my! My first thought when you said “storm baby” was that you were CONCEIVED during a storm! Maybe your parents were hiding in the closet… LOL

Oh dear, the temptation may be too great. Maybe there is time enough for everything.
