in the back of a dusty classroom closet, i spied some old crepe paper and shiny gold foil paper. so…everyone added a dose of bling to their posters!
i brought some vintage red labels from home so each child could write their school/class/name.
these 5 were chosen by the students to represent the class.
i was only supposed to select 4, but i pretended not to know.
Somewhere in the midst of her retirement Ms. McIntosh is cringing at the above sentence.
There’s not much cooler than kid’s creativity.
Sigh….must go have Chinese Food now !!!!

Honestly, this artwork takes my breath away. The fab bling and tissue flowers add texture and dimension to send them over the top. Over the TOP. Amazing. What amazing minds they have.

Hey Mary Ann, I know that Asian families want their children to be doctors,lawyers, etc. But you must foster the Artists in your class, hopefully even if you have to leave, eventually. These little ones have accomplished one of the most difficult principles of Art, exquisite Perspective. Bravo, Mary Ann. Maria

I can only echo what has already been said, Mary Ann. What very fortunate kids to have a chance to experience wonderful, creative, wide open to life…YOU. Tell the children their posters are beautiful……and a little ” bling ” doesn’t hurt either!
I am certain you have already changed/opened up some of their lives forever. “There was this one teacher that came in as a substitute when I was in 5th grade, her name was Miss Moss and she…” Such a gift!

I just love you. I do indeed. I had a 7th grade teacher who did a metal art project and she praised me like crazy and I thought I was an artist. It took me 40 years to realize it. You are imprinting some fine ideas in these young minds, yes you are.
love the addition of the gold and crepe paper additions, the kids did an awesome job on their posters and you did an fantastic job of guiding and encouraging them….it’s wonderful what a little bit of fertile soil will do for hungry imaginations and you provide nice, rich soil where any child can bloom and thrive…
