i enjoy the wildly insane quality of a contour drawing, or in this case a modified contour drawing. for years and years my sister and i have done contour drawings of each other. we plan to do a lot in umbria. so if you're in the area and hear a flock of honking drunken geese it's just us.
i find other peoples' contour drawings so fascinating. there is something about the misshapen features and crooked lines that i find very compelling and interesting.
i'm having quite a bit of fun trying out all of my different pens and markers to see how they change the line.
anyway, just having a quiet saturday night up here on my little hill. crossing lines, moving my pen across the paper, and marveling at the chaotic wonder of it all.
hope you're finding clever ways to amuse and delight yourself in your part of the world.

These are really good. I had not heard of contour drawing. I learned something today!
Are you still enjoying ‘The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Frye’? I listened to the unabridged audio book read by Jim Broadbent on my roadtrip to visit family. He did an excellent job! It is so heartbreakingly beautiful. Have a great week!

I love contour drawings, too! I especially love the one you did of John Muir. I would hang that puppy up in my house! I love how when you are doing a blind contour drawing, you feel like your hand is doing the “right” thing, but when you complete it and look at the page it is not what you thought at all and it makes you see something in the original thing or object that you never saw before. I love your blog and am still devouring TTV!

Enjoying your contour play very much. Nothing quite like stetchin those creative muscles and takin them for a walk across a new piece of paper, see where the lines take you and from what I can tell’ you and your ‘lines’ are having a very fine party.
