pioneer woman’s sunday night STEW. on friday. because i like a hearty winter stew in the middle of a frigid california night. lying!
not about the stew.
you already know what this is. but in case you don’t…it’s THIS.
i’ve been spiffing up my blog all week. something i’ve been wanting to do for the longest. what a luxury to have the time to do it!
i’ve been buried under a heap of pixels and code. do not be one single solitary bit impressed by my use of the word “code”. i’m just an ordinary chimp who was recently empowered by watching rise of the planet of the apes. not lying. and i figured if ceasar the chimp can learn to talk and sign then i could learn a thing or two about css. also sometimes when you head off on a difficult adventure it’s a good idea to delude yourself. also i’ve always wanted to toss the word “code” around.
basically i just type in what i’m trying to figure out … via google search and then i just let the wild goose chases begin. chimps love chasing geese! you don’t need a mind like a steel trap you just need to know how to copy & paste what you find and do a little experimenting. and lots and lots of spare time.
also typepad has a help section devoted to css. also typepad has very helpful people to come to your rescue when your code makes strange things happen.
i don’t have everything loaded up yet, but so far the “journals” button in the navigation bar takes you to the 16 little boxes and each of those will eventually take you to a different book. i have a few more to complete.
some of my navigation bar buttons don’t go anywhere yet and some will be changed.
that’s all.
off to chase a few more geese!

Why, you read my mind. I WAS impressed when used the word “code” . You tried to change my mind, but it didn’t work. I’m still impressed. Golly.

I am so happy for you in your new found freedom. You are on a creative pogostick and the results you share are interesting, inspiring, exciting, amusing:wow!
I am a big fan of Pioneer woman, and my current default from her recipe collection is “crashed potatoes”……………simple red potatoes lightly boiled, crashed on oiled cookie sheet, painted with oil/salt/pepper and baked (roasted?)briefly at high temp. OMG OMG OMG. I eat them “plain”. I indulge with sour cream. I add shredded cheese and broil. For breakfast I top them with fried egg. I am not a fan of tex/mex/border cooking (ouch heartburn) but if I could eat ’em I’d be listing another dozen possibilities. Those little guys are a blank spuddy canvas, and great for the solo cook.
Keep enjoying your new life!!!!!

HI Mary Ann,
I am working on my new TypePad site and am jazzed by what you are doing here. I’ve been doing a lot of Googling and looking on “Everything TypePad” a lot this week! Looks like you are doing an awesome job! Great to see what you are up to!

Splendid work!
O, I wish you could zoom over and do mine too…
I’ll put another Ms-Moss-inspired 2-do on my List.
I’ve been wanting a side-by-side pic-links page for the longest time.
D’you really think any chimp can manage it?
I enjoyed a lovely slow stroll through the memory-canals of the final ttv pdf last night. Sweet to re-visit those unique moments.

well no matter how much you defer your ‘code’ skills, I think it’s pretty darn awesome. I really, really need to tap into DD’s ‘code’ skills one of these days, I’m excited when you are ready to roll out the completed new look, so far the menu bar below your banner is very cool. Ok so that stew just made me so hungry and it’s not quite noon. I think that might have to be tomorrows dinner.

chrissy i try and stay off the computer the first 2 hours in the a.m. not possible to get the blog spiffed up in 2 hours a day. well it is, but it would take a month.
Chrissy says
Are you still limiting yourself to two hours only at your computer? If so, these results are MIGHTY!

mmmm… I made that same PW stew just a few days ago. SO GOOD! I love what you’ve done with the place and I’m so excited to see that links for your other journals and projects are in the works. When I need some inspiration, I’ll know just where to go. 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing it all with us!

I love the pic of your chocolate PB frozen yogurt in the pretty bowl…is that Johnson Brother’s Rose Chintz? I have just one plate in that pettern & wish I had more.
What a treat to be able to take your time & do whatever you want each day…after all those years of wrangling craft monkeys, you deserve it! Enjoy these lovely S CA winter days for me…it’s in the single digits with way to much snow here in NE Ohio…BRRRRRRRRRR!!!

you are so inspiring….i am lucky to even know how to post, let alone change my blog around. i couldn’t even figure out how to link the TTV on my blog! sorry. looks like you are being productive and enjoying the beginning of your sabbatical.

I noticed earlier today that you’d been busy rearranging this on your blog, it’s looking goood! Love having a spot to go to drool over and admire all of your lovely journals. I know they were on your sidebar before but now they are corraled into one special spot and somehow even the way the boxes with the photos of the journals is displayed is a visual joy to me!
