if i didn’t have to report to duty on monday morning i would just stay home and draw 234 pairs of scissors. one after another. or until my brain reset itself.
me and my exacto at it again.
i def def def do not want to have a race with the presto zappo super sonic cutting machine silhouette something or other. no way!
it can cut circles around me!
but it can’t draw neon pink patterns and then staple them on top of other patterns.

So many gorgeous patterns and layers!

I ADORE your scissor drawings! They remind me of a college art class in which we had to make HUGE drawings in charcoal of an object. I chose the hammer my dad sent me off to college with! I recently came across those drawings, rolled up safely, and got a chuckle.
I may need to start drawing tools again…..

I’ve been enjoying your colourful pages every day. Clever you. Don’t know how you do it but you do it to perfection.

Awesome pages Mary Ann…my favorite thing about your pages is that you just ‘do it’ you create them and then send them out into the world to face the day…encouraging them to be brave for what they are, that their authenticity is all that truly matters..not about fancy, pancy fine, clean cuts and what not…those magic, cutting machines ain’t go nothin’ on you girl’, nothing I say… 🙂
ya know, I kind of think you treat your journal pages, just like you treat your students, give them room to learn, make it interesting, offer guidance and direction, keep the really important stuff on the straight and narrow, just enough so it can’t fall through the cracks…little kids lives are sometimes more complicated than the adults in their lives and you, being a good educator know that…all the important stuff ends up being more fun that way…your journal pages are like that too…cuz sometimes what matters most are the little details that often get over looked…but they still shine big and bright…

Hey Mary Ann! I just love the direction you are headed with your work, with lots of sketches and hand drawn papers, patterns, and doodles! It suits you. Maybe a future class where you show us all what we can do when we put our own mark to the page?! I mean really, what can’t you do? Lurv! Thanks for sharing!
