Erin Perry sent me a whole package of tiny vintage postcards from Budapest. I’m using them as tabs on some pages. I’ll add some writing to this one later.
If you’re in the FTB class, I made this journal kind of the way I made my Inspiration Journal. Also like the Hidden Binding journal…Except I used one of those old photo scrapbooks from the 30’s and 40’s that are all over ebay. You know the kind with the tie on the side? Black pages on the inside. I cut that long rectangular cover in half.
Half of it is the front cover and the other half is the back. It’s leather embossed chipboard. I think. Those old scrapbooks have so much delicious potential! And they are ridiculously inexpensive. I might make another inspiration journal from the back cover.
Good thing I made my elastic closure really loose. It fits perfectly now and won’t get all stretched out. I’m still stuffing photos in, but I’m nearly done. I’ll post better pics of each double-sided spread once I’m completely finished.

Hi Mary Ann, can you tell me where you got the paper punch in the shape of the badge/shield (used for “Sat 8/20/11”). I’ve searched and searched and haven’t found anything. Thanks…and I always love your journals! You are fab.u.lous.

I love to look at your blog – it gives me hope that as a teacher I too can find the time and commit the time to myself to art journal…here’s to trying.

Tiny postcards as tabs! *forehead smack* Brilliant!

Fun to see those tiny postcards adorning your pages, instead of hiding in my stash. Love traveling vicariously with you – first on the trip and then through your journal.

Oh em gee, I too have one of those albums and was wondering what I would do with it. Now I know, I shall cut it half! What a great idea! Love those cute little postcards.

Amazing journal! And is that the apartment directory that you adored in the top photo from Budapest I spy? That’s so nice of a certain someone! Lucky you!

Your journal peeks always make me grin. Always just a wee bit of magic flowing from the pages. Seriously, if there ever is a power shortage, i’d just say hook up all those genie’s to Moss Cottage and we will all be spinning and flying happily about. The real beauty is in that all that energy runs slow and easy but ever steady so one can get powered up and still relax at the same time.

I bought one of those photograph albums by accident from eBay and love the vintage black paper in them; but was kicking myself because it’s so big. I never thought to cut it in half! Did a sharp utillity blade do the job?
