My new V.J. is double the size of No. 11. It feels huge! I've been experimenting with working in a different way than usual. Starting pages and not finishing them the same day. gasp! It's v. difficult for me to pull myself away from a page once I've begun, but I'm forcing myself. Because, you know. I'm the boss of me!
These are the original endpapers in the ledger. I sewed the signatures together and inserted the book block leaving the raised cord binding intact.
The air is cold and transparent. Our nighttime lows are creeping towards the 30's here in the city of angels. Outdoor fire snuggle weather. November I love you.
Happy Saturday.

thanks for showing how you do the binding; i have wondered. I would be worried about using those old books with marbled paper – however do you decide which you will alter and which you won’t?

Just caught up on all your posts for a month. It was time well spent. I have to have an orderly space to work also. Hard when I’m printmaking. I’ve currently also taken over our dining room! Question: If you could pick the place you have visited that you loved the most what would that place be? And maybe one sentence why? LOVE your journals. Cheers from chilly Oregon- Janice

Where DO you find these old wonderful ledgers???

Love that end paper. It is chilly in the desert, also. We are aiming at around 30′ each night and I’m loving it.

That is gorgeous! Are those rounded corners I see? What is your favorite corner rounding tool to use?

I’m in Agoura Hills and it is a bit chilly! My basil froze last night and I didn’t even think about it! I’m still pretty new to your blog but love what I see. You have inspired me to try to “step outside of my box”. It isn’t always easy, is it??? Thanks for the inspiration!

Have always loved all your Visual Journals, but will be watching this one with particular interest,as I was recently given a very similar old ledger! Not that I’m a copycat, you understand, but hey, why invent the wheel?
