Ba da bing!
Thanks to you clever monkeys I got up bright eyed and bushy tailed and headed to Michael’s. You should know, I’d rather get a Brazilian wax than go there. But a woman’s gotta do what she’s gotta do. So I went. I got my elastic. I didn’t look back.
I summoned my crafty powers and faster than you can say RAMA LAMA DING DONG I had an elastic loop closure. That really happened.
This journal is ready to hit the streets of Istanbul!
Thanks for being my verizon team. Thanks special someone who is sending me some barbed elastic for future journals.

This is a groovey journal. Would love to know the details of how you attached this elastic closure. 🙂

Mary Ann…love this journal…have fun on your travels. I was thinking that those elastic pony tail thingys would work as a closure…and someone else mentioned that.
Chrissy says
Me too, I’d like to know how the other end of the elastic was attached.
Perhaps a mini-mini addition (in a blog entry) to the ROD course? Great button.
Your journals are very neat this time round, Mrs Tidy.

Again a wonderful journal, Mary Ann! About the elastic: You tied it, but there are also elastic bands with a little piece of metal at the end, you kan pull it through a hole, twist the metal piece and it sets itself, because it has a T-shape now. (It’s more difficult to explain than to use ;-)). have a nice trip to (my) Europe!

It’s GORGEOUS, it’s BEAUTIFUL, it’s WONDERFUL, It’s LUVERLY! ( I probably wish it were mine)

Another FABULOUS looking journal.
I avoid Michael’s as well – helps that the nearest one is 2 hours away.
Just thought I’d tell you that instead of elastic, I use those cheap hair elastics at the dollar store…you get anywhere from 3 to 8 in a package depending on how big they are. YES, they don’t come in a lot of colours but always have black ones.
ENJOY your trip!

You’ve probably read about Istanbul’s cats in your travel books –

Love the journal, and the button stopped me cold.
Mary Ann Moss says
susan & JJ as to how its attached in the back: super simple: 2 holes elastic cord stuck through and tied tightly. seems very sturdy. i probably wont even cover the tied part with anything, looks neat enough for me.
kristi says
Love your travel journal; you’re going to have so much fun filling it up too! That elastic is PERFECT! Where did you find the tabs? The whole thing rocks!
susan w says
another ditto on the engineering question – about attaching to the back….

‘S gorgeous, Mary Ann–love the papers you’ve used and all your different kinds of tabs. And the orange button and orange elastic are to die for, I can’t wait to see it being filled. Have a wonderful time, you and your seester.
Jesse/Joan says
Poyfeckshun, now how did you attach it to the back? Sewn in, glued, wanna know. How long is the elastic?
I can’t stand that store either…but since I don’t know what a Brazilian Wax is, I can’t compare…I’m too old! HA
