I’ve mentioned my friend Dorothy before.
She does brave things. In 30 years I want to be doing the exact same things she’s doing. Because well…then I would be brave too. First though I’d have to find out the weigh limit on that harness and ropes.
Here’s what she wrote:
Can you believe it? sailing along in the stratasphere 1300′ above Lake Tahoe …the speed boat a tiny speck on the white caps WAY below….nothing between you and Heaven (except your sins, of course). It’s as close to hang-gliding as I’ll get in this life.
And I loved it!
I’m sure that she appreciates me turning her private email into a blog post without asking her permission first. But, if you befriend a person like me with no moral compass these things can happen.

Too weird – did you notice that your last post – the journal – has pictures of parachutes? And now here’s your friend with a parachute………..coincidence?
Anyway – awesome photographs – love the color. And loooove the bravery of your friend. Her doing this is as close as I’m ever going to get to doing it! And that’s a fact!

Bravo Dorothy!….it’s the Everyday Heroes that REALLY motivate us. The cultural SuperStars just don’t seem like normal humans.
I’ll remember that anything I send your way is fair game for the Bill Board *wink*
Have a fabulous trip even though I’m not there.

When I was going through the angst of being a teenager and living in Florida, my dream of what I would most want to do as an adult was to live in a cottage by the sea and make art! And there you go and show the real-life personification of that dream…just beautiful.

I like your friend Dorothy, she’s got guts and a sense of adventure. One day I’ll try parasailing too, one day soon before it’s too late.

I did that once but I didn’t wear my glasses for fear they’d fall into the water… I’m blind as a bat without them and couldn’t see a thing except for blurry blue water and what I think were green forests.
It doesn’t take bravery; it just takes a so-called friend and husband to strap you in… and that’s all she wrote.
