What I had for lunch: carne asada burrito with salsa verde. Thank you La Estrella for having the foresight and wisdom to park a few blocks from my house.
More enchanting blossoms have opened up in the garden. Freesia.
I just heard flowers described as the reproductive organs of plants. Which made me think about plant sex. Pollination porn! It's all happening right here. Right now. In LA. All of our winter rain has kicked everything up a notch.
The birds, bees, moths, and bats must be full of punch drunk love.
Lavender. A flower that keeps her wits about her. Saving all that scent for her leaves instead. I think I would like my entire front yard to be a lavender field. No, I'm serious.
Here lies a splendid aeonium with no fragrance at all. Who doesn't need at least one enormous green rose in their garden? With waxy petaled leaves tinged with pink. Yes please. And thank you.
Or a dusty cat ready to sink into his favorite electronic cord pillow. I
try to stop him, but he's having none of it.

there is nothing better than fresh mexican food, we don’t have any trucks around my neighborhood but we do have excellent Mexican stores and restaurants. when you travel the world, you will never find authentic Mexican food other than in Mexico and the US. one more reason to feel blessed and grateful…now pass the salsa:)

La Estrella looks disgusting to me but my husband would be eating from it every day!!! Yes, what a glorious year for flowers after all the rain we have had. Aahhh lavender is one of my most favorite smells of all. Lucky for me the deer do not eat it but all 14 of my plants froze to death in the winter snow last year so I have none right now. Enjoy your beautiful blossoms and bees and best food ever.

Moss Cottage, the smell of lavender how wonderful. Although I have a few more months here to beable to plant at least theres someone in the world enjoying these beauties and you dont even have to buy them every year to have them they come up on there own. How lovly that would be for me. But my fox gloves are sticking there lillle heads through this soil and the chives and thyme are coming back again for another summer of cooking. Cant wait.
Enjoy,
Linda

I have several lavenders in my back yard and I’ve seriously thought about making the entire backyard my own lavender farm. Two of my neighbors are the kind of folks who grow weeds in their backyards. I’ve actually entertained the idea of leasing out their yards, and planting ~ you guessed it, Lavender. I could probably start a successful little business selling lavender.
Hey, you could have a great “cottage” business !!!!!
Moss Lavender Cottage. I can see it now.

ah yes, my allergies in the spring are all due to the trees having sex. I’ve been saying that for years.
