My next PURE EXPERIMENTATION online class is being constructed. I’ve aptly titled it Shabby Scraps REMAINS OF THE DAY. While I toil away in the classroom cracking eggs and educating the fine young punks minds of tomorrow, at night I am building big bonfires (in my mind )and scribbling away in my writing journal. Diagrams, blueprints, flowcharts. Oh my! Since I have difficulty narrowing down my focus, I’ve taken my usual approach of more is more. Conceptually, this class will be a combination of a few shabby scrappy journals I’ve made in the last year. Not those exact journals per se, but a brand new one that will incorporate my favorite parts of each of those old darlings:
I dig going on archaeological scavenger hunts in my tiny studio and finding long buried treasure to use in these journals. I find all sorts of things that have been laying around – sometimes for years. Security envelopes, ledger paper, scraps of fabric, wallpaper, old photos, maps, book pages, and tons of other scraps. Every last thing found, assembled, stitched, and bound into a shabby scrappy journal. Disordered splendor at its finest.

I am still on the stencilfest from the first class. I LOVE stencils. Thanks for that. Who knew? I don’t journal so I had to go my own kooky way with this all. Now I am making my stencil people into ceramic people. A certain freedom came with the Pure Experimentation that I have transferred to my work. You are SO fabu! Thank you for the awesome gift! (((hugs))) I wrote to North Light and told them to snap you up and fast. Slow fools. (grin) I am tempted to write to HGTV. You need a show. And Carol is missing. 😉

So much fun to read our blogs and look at the purdy pictures…
I just realized that even though this a Pure Experimentation class, this is a new and different Pure Experimentation class! Oh dear, I think if I’m this befuddled I might as well go have a glass of wine, or Limoncello.

I remember those birds! Inspirational.
Re bonfires: it’s bonfire night for real over in England, 5th November. I keep thinking about the fireworks and the toffee apples and the kids’ faces. All because a certain Guy Fawkes plotted to blow up the Houses of Plarliament.
