In a cruel twist of fate autumn has abandoned Los Angeles. The days are groaning under the weight of 80 degree temps. In keeping with our summer weather pattern I moved slowly and deliberately outside to rattle some paint cans around. I’m craving red and yellow and blue. And red.
1 page left in the visual journal. I’m shuffling towards a conclusion. Like Tim Conway on a Carol Burnett skit – remember the old man?
I’ll probably spill some profound thoughts onto these pages after I finish this post. Dip my nib in ink and do some doodling. Maybe put a box fan in the window. Find a swimming hole in which to splash. You know, leisurely Saturday night activities
I’m doing a comparison study on the Elvis cupcake versus Vanilla. I’m torn. Conflicted. Hesitant to commit and file my report. Which is why there are 2 of each in the box. No I will not eat them while watching The Biggest Loser. That’s on Tuesday and these will be long gone by then. Someone put the coffee on!

There are a combination of 3-4 stencils in that background which I grabbed willy nilly. 1 I cut myself, 1 I is from STENCIL1.

Mary Ann… at the risk of sounding like a teenage groupie, I just wanted to tell you this: I absolutely LOVE visiting your blog! Your posts always give me inspiration. They give me opportunity to live vicariously in your very artistic world. They allow me to breathe for a few minutes and basque in the art that you share. I’ve wanted to tell you this but felt silly. Today I thought it was high time to let you know how much you are appreciated through your blog.
(((hugs)))

can you tell us again where some of your stencil resources are, the one stencil you used for the background in particular if you do not mind…the red and yellow are really great together but all your pages are fun.

What made you think of that sketch? I had forgotten how funny those two were. I always loved how they cracked each other up.
I think i know what the little icons by the posts are now. They may be place holders for images chosen by the post-ers. But I don’t know how or where one goes to add them.

like that colour combo…red, yellow, blue (and more red). Great journal pages and I’m admiring your stencilling.
I’ll put the kettle on, you bring over the cupcakes, they look yumbo!!!
Hope you had a lovely weekend and found a swimming hole somewhere close.

You just crack me up! I can imagine you in a swimming hole on a hot summer/autumn night, martini in hand.
Now I want a cupcake, and it’s almost 9:30 pm and I live in one of the deadest neighborhoods in SF. Poo.
I’m going to have to go into the kitchen and concoct some sort of subsitute.

VIOLETS in old town Pasadena. Martha Stewart mentions them in her cupcake book. So you know they gotta be good! http://www.violetscakes.com/
