First day back at school in 7 weeks today. Although a life of rigorous leisure is more my speed, I could not complain when from far off on the school yard I heard the thunderous sound of many small hooves galloping towards me. “MISS MOSS!!!!!” screams and yelps of excitement. Tight squeezes, exclamations, and plenty of love to go around. My old brood of 2nd graders are big proud 3rd graders now, but they’re still my little punks. Tomorrow I’ll meet the new group.
Much as I hate to see it go, the Portugal chapter is closing.
Naturally I’ll shut the door slowly. I’m not quite done yet.
Visit my youtube channel to see some Lisbon videos if you so desire!

you know those punks are going to remember you decades from now with great fondness. maybe no one has told you this, but it must be said.

More, more, more. I am loving the tour via your travel journal!

I so enjoy this blog. Portugal to 2nd grade in a few paragraphs. Amazing. There is a small restaurant near here that is owned by a couple from Protugal. If the people you met are anything like them, you had wonderful encounters.

What is that second picture with the arch colonnade?? very story tale like.
The cool thing about the new school year is your rock star status when you go through the cafeteria where last year’s kids are eating…

Ooh, I’m not done with summer either, and got a call yesterday from my principal – a jolt back into reality, and sadly, it was to tell me about the cutbacks and personnel changes going on due to budget problems. I KNOW, though, that once the kids come back, it will be better. Your book is lovely, and I, too, want to close the chapter on the summer slowly – yes, I’m not quite done yet.
Thanks –
Cindy
