Saturday. Late morning. 66 lovely degrees. The windows are open. It's a regular orchestral feast with tree trimmers, helicopters, twin-engine planes, dogs barking, birds twittering back and forth, traffic humming softly down the hill. Someone just laughed. Someone else just screamed – at their dog to stop barking I think. Someone is rattling glass bottles into their recycling bin. There goes a leaf blower doing a solo now. Here. Have a small slice of a poem, not the whole thing. You won't need it.
How Everything Adores Being
Alive
Alive
… what if you had wings
and flew
and flew
into the garden,
then
fell
into the up-tipped
face
then
fell
into the up-tipped
face
of a white flower,
and
what if you had
a sort of mouth,
a lip
and
what if you had
a sort of mouth,
a lip
to place close
to the
skim
of honey
that kept offering itself –
to the
skim
of honey
that kept offering itself –
what would you think
then
of the world
as, night and day,
you were kept there –
then
of the world
as, night and day,
you were kept there –
oh happy prisoner –
sighing, humming,
roaming
that deep cup?
sighing, humming,
roaming
that deep cup?

How synchronistic…I sat in the back yard this morning enjoying the Sunday symphony of sound…and then you and Ms Oliver put it into words and photos. Indeed an EOR. Thanks.
