Do have a splendid day tomorrow wherever the holiday may find you. Whether you're nestled in your snowy homestead, or right here in Los Angeles enjoying the drenching showers.
I have a luxurious 4-day weekend rolled out in front of me, which is frankly, you know, exhilarating. Thunder is softly roaring over my head, rain pattering on my metal awning, turkey unthawing in the sink. Preparations for 4 days of serious leisure have begun.
Oh. And I half-heartedly won a 12 pound box of vintage ephemera on Ebay. I've been trying to visualize that box landing on my porch. I can't wait to start sorting and categorizing and cataloguing and checking and rechecking. Or whatever it is one does with that much paper. Sure there will be plenty of crap, but at least a pound or two is bound to set me on the path to narcotic bliss. I'm sure of it.
p.s. keep those western titles coming on my previous post. I am so digging them!

My T-Day was chock-a-block full o’activity, and today has been festooned in fartsy-artsyness, with no end in sight. I’ll be fartsying the next two days, while listening to podcasts, listening to familiar movies while I slather gel medium or large on various surfaces, and warming leftovers. Wasn’t the weather lovely today? Can’t show you because didn’t take photos. Hibiscus were there, though.
I hope your turkey unthawed and you enjoyed every corpuscle. And the K Posse? mwwaarrr?

Hi Mary Ann,
Just discovered your blog and have now caught up reading ALL of your previous post! You have really inspired me to also keep a visual journal now especially the ones using recycled envelopes 🙂 I hope you will show us pics of your ebay loot to boot and what you will do with it. Would you please send me your email address as I have a must have photo to send you but I cannot just click on your email address as it opens a program I do not have. Thanks so much! Hope you enjoyed your T day. Wendy

I don’t know about your house, but in mine the aroma of turkey cooking is an intoxicant for cats, as the thought of 12 pounds of papers is for me. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Love Mary

You got your rain at last! Perfect for a four day weekend (I have three). here’s hoping the box arrives quickly. Actually the crap part of something like that will probably be the most primo part.
And anyway, how can you tell it’s crap!!!
You are going to have SO MUCH fun!

Forgot to mention in previous post if you like The Shadow Catcher by Marianne Wiggins, you might want to check out two of her other novels that I adore….Evidence of Things Unseen…my favorite book that I have read this year… and John Dollar, horrifying but stunningly beautiful. She is an amazing writer, you would never read those three novels and imagine the same writer behind each one….Maybe I am the only one weird enough to love a book and then read everything else that author wrote..but hey, I could (and do) have worse obsessions!!!
