Oh dear. A trip to Scrapbook Oasis in Irvine. A few more things got added to the travel book. Like larger rings.
A few green chandeliers courtesy of Hambly screenprint overlays.
The variety of scrapbook paper is staggering. Many bad words were uttered under my breath. Each paper more fabulous than the next. I may have let out a few high pitched shrieks.
I tried to resist the little calendar, but alas, I could not. Cute stacks of cuteness everywhere I looked. It was overwhelming.
Meanwhile, new geraniums unfold in the bathtub out back.
The bird whisperer is up to his usual high jinx. In his soft warm jaws he’s carried 2 large birds, 1 BIG lizard, an orange & black snake, and a tiny baby squirrel in the house in the last week. I tried to convey to him the depths of my despair upon seeing the stunned and frightened little creatures, but he plugged his ears with his paws. The Moss Cottage catch and release program is in full swing.
Note to self: If the lizard you are taking outside bites you DO NOT scream obscenities and drop it. A. the bite doesn’t hurt at all B. you will have to crawl back under the chest of drawers to get him again. This will be v.v. annoying. Especially if he climbs up the back of the dresser, slips in through the crack in back, and slithers through your underpants.
I felt sorriest for the poor baby squirrel D.O.A. I’d never seen one before. It was very interesting to examine close up. Wyatt remains on house arrest until his fine retrieving instincts lessen.
Nasturtiums from Tyn’s garden.

Oh, our Wisteria is FABULOUS! I love your pic. Wyatt, what a cutey. He’s bringing presents to you. Isn’t he a good and talented hunter? And those papers! I would want to shriek obscenities, too! Although, in my case, I fucking would!

Geraniums and nasturtiums and wisteria — oh, my! What a fabulous treat to see what’s blooming at Moss Cottage! It’s still in the 20s at night here in Connecticut but we are having a heat wave of weather in the high 40s during the day so things are looking up. Thanks for the glorious flowers!

you little stinker. you were just a few minutes away from me! that’s a pretty good store to find new paper. yesterday was like a tornado with two baseball games and one birthday party. if we had seen each other it would have only to light the wick on the cannon. whooosh! next time… those flowers look otherworldly. so beautiful. but not as lovely as your kitty. what lovely eyes on his naughty creature carrying self.

That is one unrepentant looking cat! Smug, even.(That would be a good name, except you couldn’t easily call “Smuggy, Smug, Smug…”) My guys are indoors only and they won’t eat the cockroaches. I have an expanding collection of gorgeous papers -just from Hobby Lobby and Michael’s. I tend to stay out of the scrapbook store because they have even more. Have I done anything with the papers – is that what I heard you ask? Yes, I have taken them out of their storage envelopes, looked at them, made oogy oogy sounds and put them back in.

Poor dear Wyatt. . I vaguely remember some underpants that had sencils on them a while back – yes? Are lizard panties in the future?? Love the new book. Remember, I know where you live, I could come steal it!!

I’m so conceptually impaired — I’m trying to picture your new journal, because at some point I thought I read you were using old ‘frames’ and now I’m seeing binder rings and paper, and I love it ALL whether I ‘get it’ or not … you just inspire my pants off. I happen to love lizards, call me next time and I’ll retrieve the little sucker. I used to walk around with one on my nose, just to freak out my lovely mother! My wee feline seems to be sick so she’s going to the Vet tomorrow, can’t hold down her food, I’m really worried. The wisteria photo is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen all weekend, M.A.

your journal here is looking fantastic! I love all the different papers you have scored! The paper with the patterened green fuzzies is my favorite. I would love to get my hands on some paper like that 🙂

Oh, the Moss cottage is the most wonderful place – I may have to let out a high pitched shrieks myself over the happiness brought on by this post. We got up to 58 degrees yesterday and the joy flooded in. Even had some sweet smelling flowers and 4 deer in the back yard. I’m so excited about your trip to Italy too. Oh, the fun of preparing and then the fun of going and then the fun of remembering. Life is good. xoxoxoxox

just keep repeating after me:
If red touches yellow – it can kill a fellow …
(This means what it says, but the likelihood of actually dying from a Coral Snake bite is very small.)
If red touches black, it is a friend of Jack …
(It’s not a Coral Snake but another snake)
just an old Texas rhythm, never did figure out who Jack was and why he had so many snake friends.

Sorry…..I’m up too early and not enough coffee to do a good spellcheck……the title, of course, should be
“Lizards in My Underpants”
Kate says
No wonder it smells so good there! I was jumping up and down at my two opened jonquils yesterday. And that’s all there is.
Sequana says
I sense a new poem entitled, “Lizards in my Underpant”…..
One day a green crawly thing,
Into my house the cat did bring
…..duh da, duh da, duh da

You and others are inspiring me to get gluing!
Last night I was ready to go, scissors, sacrificial magazines, everything, but the only glue stick I could find was alllllll dried up.
Today’s plan includes an excursion for a new glue stick!
I love close-up pics of flowers. I always learn something. I never knew nasturtiums had those fringy bits on the inside!

Your travel journal is looking wonderful! It’s inspired me to go get busy and create a new journal myself. Love the story about the lizard…read it aloud to dh, who also chuckled and then stated: “Bet that was a load that hit the laundry!”
