This is my kind of forecast! Before I batten down the hatches I have a few images I’ve been meaning to share. An outdoor ornament tree in Silverlake shining in the sun. I was attracted by all of the glittering chaotic oppulence. I’ll have an extra large helping of that please.
And maybe a big slice of this succulent & protea wreath.
A clever new graffiti poster caught my eye.
And finally, an unfinished visual journal page. In between bouts of staring into space, puzzling over the coming storm’s trajectory & estimated time of landfall, and boarding up the windows of Moss Cottage I barely had any room left over in my crowded mind to wreak any creative havoc. Some days there is more thinking to be done than others.

oooohh, I love the ornament tree! Have I told you about my bottle tree? It doesn’t actually exist IRL yet, but “when we get back home” I’m gonna fill a tree in the back yard with beautiful wired & beaded bottles. Only 3 weeks left and we will be back in the land of eternal sweat (and sun) I am soooo going to miss cold cloudy winter days…. Heck, I’m going to miss the cold sunny days. Maybe I need to start tracking storms, too.

Oh my goodness, I need to get myself an ornament tree!

I like the idea of a photo of the newspaper instead of a scan. I remember very wet winters in California – I suppose that will keep you from spray painting in the yard (might create some interesting effects though). I ordered a respirator mask which should arrive next week. I am very excited -except we go back to school on Monday and I’ll need to do spraying late in the day (it’s too cold outside though). I don’t know if the URL i put in will work. Michelle Ward suggested a Flickr acct to play in her Street Team Crusade since I don’t have a blog. Happy New Year to you (when do you return to the corral?)

Still not a lick of rain in San Diego 10:20 p.m. They’ve been speaking of these storms for days. Family in the Bay Area say it’s mean, friends in your neck of the woods say the rain has begun. I’m looking forward to it, if it ever gets here. Great ornament tree photo and very interesting graffiti poster, indeed. Looking forward to your finished journal page. Hunker down and stay dry.

I agree with the others – that ornament tree is to die for. Here in Joshua Tree, we can only hope and pray for rain. So far, since I’ve been here I have seen wind. That, and sun. Rain. What’s that again?

Stay safe. Love the ornament tree.

Wow, those journal pages are fabulous. Hope you survived the weather!

Can you go back out to silverlake and get a shot of the ornaments in the tree when the storm hits at full gale speed?
I think that would be something to see.
It will be a good excuse to get some more use out of that raincoat and hat you got up in Portland.
Nice new shots of the cat posse – Buck is the groom, Corky is the flower cat, and Wyatt is the cat of honor wondering when the tuna cake is gonna get served.

You are too funny with your weather excitement! Love the ornament tree too. It would be cool if it was up year-round. Hope you get really rainy and windy weather. 🙂

As I write this at 7 am on Friday, the wind’s picking up. Maybe I’d better make coffee…if the power goes out and I’m coffee-less I won’t be happy. I suppose some food in the house might be a good idea, too. Oh well…at least we have loads of water. 😉 Hope you don’t get slammed too hard down there.

Storms!!! We too are told to expect rain – I hope it’s REAL rain and not just spit.
Oh. My. God. That ornament tree!!! Can I download that picture and use it as my desktop saver? One of my favorite movie scenes is from ‘Body Heat’ — when the lead couple go back to her place to ‘see her chimes’, and she’s got an entire porch hung with chimes, all around it. This ornament tree gives me the same sensation but with light, not sound.
