Adios LA. Hello Oregon. Hey Oregon, you’re green! And wet. Glassy rivers twisting this way and that.
So many bridges! And railroad tracks, and tall shaggy trees. Astoria is REAL. I am in it. Right this second! This calls for at least 5 or 6 more exclamation marks and I am not afraid to use them.
On the road to Astoria deep forests straddled either side of the road. And the forest floor is covered with ferns and mossy branches! It looks to me like if a person were to lay down on that velvety ground they would soon be covered in a moss blanket.
When I stepped inside my room I screamed and clapped my hands together. From my window I could see an enormous ship passing under the Astoria Bridge. Then another, and another. I don’t think I need to leave. I’m just going to sit right here in the big comfy chair by the wide open windows with my binoculars and watch the ships go by. And breathe in all the river & sea air, watch the seals swimming by, and the birds, and…

oh! i love astoria. lucky! If you get a chance drive over to Cannon Beach. I love it there too. We went right when the fog rolled in and it was magical.
