A warm balmy Sunday in Los Angeles. In between:
making horse mosaics
drinking lemon iced tea
walking in the neighborhood with the camera
giving myself a spraypaint manicure
reading
napping
taking turns giving the cat posse rides around on my shoulder
watching people house hunting in Paris (International House Hunters: warning highly addictive)
and…………
listening to Neil Young sing about Razor Love
I started a new journal. Which means I searched the bookcases for a suitable cover. FOUND! An old art book bought for a few bucks in the middle of nowhere Arkansas on a trip to see Mama & Papa Moss many many many moons ago. Inside I found a photo of one of Papa Moss’ working border collies. Don’t you love finding old bits of letters, notes & photos tucked in the pages of books you haven’t picked up in years? Sometime this week after my brand new pack of Extra White Fabriano Artistico Hot Press paper arrives, I’ll sew in the new pages. I folded all the sprayed papers over the last few days into a signature that will get sewn into the book. This evening I will sit on the porch and begin to fill up those pages with words. I love this part.
Have you seen all the stencil paintings and everything else Judy Wise is doing over on her blog? She was a very good little girl once upon a time. I was a very bad little girl. I told her I was coming for her on horseback and we were going on a Big Adventure. She better hide those paintings and encaustic delicacies though because I’m not above stealing them.
