Dear Ms. Moss,
As usual, I come to your little home on the Web and you delight me. Your howler monkey story made me giggle, partially as it was hilarious and partially because I have my own howler monkeys, although mine are of the adolescent variety. And one day I dressed in the dark and went to work/school wearing 2 different shoes and no one said anything until just before lunch. AND I’ve had that book in my Amazon cart for a week and tonight I decided to go ahead and order it then I come here and see you’ve posted a video about it, so I’m even more excited for it to arrive! Thank you for making my hours of insomnia more enjoyable!

There are days like this. Until you clarified the shoe situation, several thoughts did run through my mind. As for sartorial mishaps, strolling around with two different shoes isn’t as bad as the day a sudden rainstorm I got caught in caused my dress to shrink up to my armpits. Not a happy sight.
I loved the video. So many things resonated with me: the natural “finds” I collect in my studio, pressed flowers, hanging laundry on the line, wandering, looking for those grace notes of the day. I guess I’ll just have to get her book. Thanks for sharing!
Good luck finding the shoe that dropped.

I too would like to look through that book and her studio!! Miss Mary Ann, your mix-matched shoes made me laugh and those cookies look so yummy!

Thank you for that Video. I just ordered the book from B and N. Can’t wait to receive it. I can see a LOT of inspiration in my future! I had to laugh about the shoes. I have four pairs of shoes that I love. They are the same style with slight color differences. I have worn them miss matched on occasion! As to the snow…. don’t have to go far to find it here in PA… just out the door.

Okay, that video is GORGEOUS! I have seen her work but didn’t know she had a book out. Must Get! Mary Ann, did you do the shoe thing on purpose? Are you trying to be the town character? Teehee! I always had dreams of retiring to Cannon Beach Oregon when I am very old and becoming the eclectic town character. Why not? Aaaaannnndddd, gimme cookie! Snow? In CA? And in the lowlands?? I’ll be darned…
Mary Ann Moss says
not on purpose! i went for walk after school and changed my shoes to something more comfortable. i keep 2 pairs of old keens in the trunk. couldn’t find the other brown one…and not many people at the park so i said WHO CARES?

Good for you:). I don’t give a hoot what people think about me. I often have store clerks pick hay out of my hair:)
