I made a video of my trip home (the long way) from Santa Cruz using my digital camera. As you can see I need a steady cam or a tripod. Nevertheless here it is, my first feature short. TA DA!

Howdy, I'm Mary Ann Moss, the chimp at the helm of this ship. I've been blogging right here since 2007 and exploring the world & driving getaway cars since 1963.
Wonderful – didn’t need a tripod at all; it was so “lively”. Thanks for doing that.
Thank you for that! :O)
so nice. I feel like I’ve been on a vacation. thanks
and the Oscar for best short film in peaceful travel category goes to……Mary Ann!!!!

Very nice. Video editing software is … ??
Jealous of your ocean………….
i love the dog barking at the end to welcome you home (a neighbors?)
and the porch light
and the heading to the creative space to begin to put together all your arty thoughts and fits and starts from your time away.
blessings.
You create such an adventure out of your life. It’s completely inspiring. (The twisty Gorilla tripod is cheap and pretty handy)
Sublime. I love me a good road trip, especially with a silent partner like you. And the coming home part with the birds twittering and dog barking. Sweet home indeed.
Dang, that was amazing! Can’t believe you got it that steady. Does Mama Moss read your blog??? If she does, expect another letter…
I am stuck at home taking care of a new puppy, so I was thrilled to join you for a little road trip.
Loved the note a few posts back from your mom!!
Happy new year, Mary Ann!!
My favorite part was when the light was touching the water and it looked it the waves were being zapped by alien lasers. Beautiful! smooches
How exotic! Beautiful.
Oh – and the sparkling sea, how I miss it.
You’ve made a lovely job of your first film.
Steady cam???! DROOOLL…I think you did pretty fantastic for hand holding your camera! LOVE the sun flare coming in around 41 seconds. Really great, MA!
Thank you for the gift this morning – sweet, sweet memories brought to the surface of the roads traveled…
Happy Holidays dear one.
Hi M.A. – I love road trips, thank you so much for taking us along. I love the leaving and the coming home. The adventure of it all. I am reading Shadow Catcher (thank you so much sharing) and she writes about “lighting out”, the leaving and the coming home…I have always thought about that on my road trips. But she writes about it (and everything) so eloquently. Your first “short feature” is the perfect accompaniment. And the music is sublime. Skipping over to Amazon now. Thanks Mary Ann. Hope you had a lovely holiday. Fran
What is it about the CA coast? I love it more now than ever in my 58 years on the planet! Good job M.A.!
Okay, there is no reason at all for crying. That’s just silly and lame.
You’re all multi-media and hi-tek! I love it! More, more!
We were up in Santa Cruz in late August and the drive is very nice. We should all go to Santa Cruz and visit respective persons, and I will hold the camera! Except for the restraining order, it’s a good idea, isn’t it?
you don’t know who this is, do you?
Yeah. The music pierced my little heart this morning too. You could have filmed your trip to Ralph’s and it would have brought a tear to my eye.
You need to add credits so we know which kitty was holding the camera while you drove – or were they driving? Maybe you just have four arms – it would explain how you get so much done.
That was simply beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I’m glad you decided to tape your return and I’m glad you got home safe. I hope you had a wonderful holiday.
What a lovely tranquil journey – very nice!!
You went right by my house…….I wish you had stopped for tea. Wasn’t it a gorgeous day driving by the beach. did you put a penny on the track by Refugio and wait for the train? Hope you had a good trip.

Susan – that song is BALEEN MORNING by Balmorhea from the River Arms CD….listed down there on my music links. the entire cd is sublimely fabulous……sigh.
