galdino my gardener also has above average ideas. like making a miniature rock wall that meanders around. i'm having him expand the size of my current succulent garden. he does all the hard work of gathering the rocks in my yard and digging a mini-trench for the mini-wall. i do the easy work of going around my garden, gathering various succulent cuttings, and plopping them into a giant container then placing them where i want them planted. DIY all the way.
wait. is it still DIY if someone else is doing all the work?
even the feather grass was plucked from everywhere it reseeds itself in the yard. i don't have regular grass. nope. that would require a sprinkler system. and water. i've grown fond of the weeds that turn lush and green when it rains. my dandelion crop was magnificent this year! and of course the rocks, great and small, come in v. v. handy.
here's the AFTER. the missus approves of the progress and likes her new scratching post. galdino is as thrilled as i am with his handiwork.
this will eventually circle around my entire yard. which is BIG.
i am clustering lots and lots of small echeveria rosettes of different kinds all along the border. i'm going for this look. since i'm trying to propogate my own succulent offspring it could take awhile. stay tuned, but don't hold your breath. that's dangerous!
